Hey everyone! Wow. What an insane last few weeks it’s been. Welcome to the brand new ‘The Richmond Reel’ Blog! My name is Chris, I’m 22, born and raised in Richmond, BC. Over the next couple of months I’m going to show you around the city of Richmond, show off some of the cool things you may or may not have known about, and otherwise [hopefully] provide you with some quick entertainment. This is the first time I’ve ever blogged, or video blogged for that matter, so bear with me and enjoy the ride.
Who the heck am I?
I’m an energetic and fun loving dude from little ‘ol Steveston, BC. I studied film at The Art Institute of Vancouver and have traveled the world shooting in almost 30 countries in 2010. I was the runner up for the 2010 Air Transat ‘Ultimate Vacationer’ position and have since began working with Tourism Richmond to promote and show off what an awesome place Richmond is.
My passions in life include travel, film, indoor & beach volleyball [runs in the family], snowboarding, skimboarding, lying on beaches, diving, and otherwise just being with my friends!
My aspiration in life is to create my own travel television series (in front of or behind the camera; I’d be thrilled with either) and fulfill that gut feeling we all know so well…. the travel bug!
Well for starters, Richmond is actually a pretty awesome place to live. Having grown up here I have everything I need at my fingertips. Not to mention I’m only a stone’s throw away [skytrain/car/bus/hitchhiking] from downtown Vancouver and Surrey. However, let’s stay focused: Richmond. We have parks, the best malls in the lower mainland, Steveston, The Olympic Oval, a great diversity of food and cultures, and probably the best bubble tea anywhere. Period.
If you live here, are interested in coming here, or are just curious and want more information about this underrated city, then this blog is for you: subscribe to my blog, follow me on Twitter, Facebook Fan me, watch my YouTube Channel, join my Flickr, and otherwise come with me as I show you this city through my eyes and my lens.
